Raja Ampat Day Liveaboard — FAQ

How much does a 7 day Raja Ampat liveaboard cost in 2027?

Per-cabin fares for the 7-day, 6-night sailing run from roughly USD 2,100 per person in a twin-share cabin to USD 3,900 in a master suite, while whole-boat charters start around USD 14,500 per week. Prices include meals, guided dives, tanks and weights, marine-park permit handling and Sorong transfers; October–April departures price higher than shoulder months.

Should I book per cabin or charter the whole boat?

Per cabin suits couples and solo travellers joining a scheduled departure with a fixed route. A whole-boat charter becomes better value from about ten guests, and gives your group control of the itinerary, dive schedule and meal times. Komodo Luxury operates both models on the same vessels, so comfort and crew standards are identical either way.

Which route does the 7-day itinerary follow?

The standard week covers the Dampier Strait — Cape Kri, Mioskon, Manta Sandy and Arborek village — plus Central Raja Ampat with the Piaynemo viewpoint and Kabui Bay, and on north-loop departures the Wayag lagoons. Boarding is at Sorong harbour on day one; the boat returns for disembarkation on the morning of day seven.

Do I need to be an advanced diver for the 7-day trip?

An Open Water certification with recent experience covers most Dampier Strait sites; Advanced Open Water is recommended for current-swept reefs such as Cape Kri and Blue Magic. Non-divers are welcome — every departure runs parallel snorkelling at manta cleaning stations and shallow coral gardens, and check dives on day one let guides match sites to your level.

How do I get to the boat from Sorong airport?

Fly into Sorong (DEO) via Jakarta or Makassar; Komodo Luxury includes the transfer from the airport to Sorong harbour, where boarding starts early afternoon on day one. No Waisai ferry is needed for liveaboard guests. Allow 18–24 hours between your final dive and any return flight, so plan to overnight in Sorong or fly out the evening of day seven.
